SANATORIUM EDEL s.r.o. is a private medical institution for children with respiratory diseases. It is situated in Zlaté Hory, 410 meters above sea level, at the northern edge of the beautiful Jeseníky mountain range. The institute specialises in treating and curing respiratory diseases for children between the ages of 2 to 15 years, but exceptions are made

for special younger patients, and those up to 18.

The history of the sanatorium dates back as far as the 19th century when Dr Anjel founded Sweinburg forest Sanatorium, and thanks to modern equipment and its beautiful surroundings, it became sought after by patients with respiratory and neurological complaints. Since then it has gone through many changes, in 1939 it became the possession of German Military forces, but after the 2nd world war it was reclaimed by the Ministry of Health, the sanatorium then

went under reconstruction and became a State sanatorium for children. Mostly children from depressed families due to the war were treated there, with complaints such as tuberculosis and malnutrition.

In 1993 the sanatorium went through further changes and became a Medical Institution for children with respiratory diseases, at this time it was privatised and became known as SANATORIUM EDEL s.r.o.

The sanatorium has a capacity of 105 beds, plus 33 extra beds for accompaniers.

The sanatorium specialises in treatments such as climatotherapy, speleotherapy, inhalations, and rehabilitations, with air purity being measured constantly on the premises.

The sanatorium operates year round, with the exception of 3 - weeks over the Christmas period.
